The harsh truth - The main reason Monkeys ends up in Sanctuaries. People do not do their research before buying a Monkey as a pet.
Quote from the book: So you think you want a Capuchin as a pet?
"Accept and Respect their nature
The change in behavior that comes with maturity, is not a betrayal—it is nature taking its course. Accepting this truth allows you to care for your monkey with clarity and compassion, rather than unrealistic expectations. By preparing properly, you ensure that both your family and your monkey are safe, secure, and emotionally supported.
These incidents often occur suddenly, without warning signs. This is not meant to scare or discourage—it is meant to equip you with the truth, so that you can make responsible, informed decisions and prevent future tragedies."

“Where They Belong”
by CESH Sanctuary
We say we love them — wide eyes, tiny hands,
a spark of soul we think we understand.
We bring them home, with hearts so kind,
believing love can tame the wild inside.
We dress them, feed them, give them names,
pretend that nature plays our games.
But forests whisper, “You can’t rewrite
the songs we’ve taught beneath the light.”
For in their chest still beats the call
of jungle winds and waterfalls.
No walls can hold that primal tune,
no cage can mimic the silver moon.
And when one day their nature shows,
we’re startled by the truth it knows:
that freedom’s pulse is never gone —
it only sleeps when caged too long.
So we gather here, not to forget,
but to honor love, and pay our debt.
For sanctuaries heal, they mend, they try,
but they’ll never match a forest sky.
Let’s learn, let’s teach, let’s change the plan to leave them wild, as nature began.
For loving them means letting go,
so all may live where rivers flow.
